- Glass Jar
- Heart punch (or just use scissors to cut out the hearts by hand)
- Adhesive Paper
- Spray paint
- Treats (to put inside)
- Optional: Ribbon, Paper doily, Handkerchief
Step 1: Either by hand or using a heart punch, take your adhesive paper and cut (or stamp) out the hearts. Peel off the sticky part and adhere it to your jar - pressing firmly to smooth. Next, apply 1 - 2 coats of spray paint to your jar and let dry. If you prefer a painted top, now would be the time paint the lid of your jar, making sure not to paint on the inside of the rim. Once your jar is dry, peel off the heart stickers.Note: If you want to be extra cautious, tape the rim of your jar to prevent the lid from sticking once it's ready for use. Step 2: I decided I wanted to line the interior of my jar with a vintage handkerchief before putting in the treats, but this part is totally up to you. You could also use tissue paper, raffia, or just keep it simple. Place your treats inside the jar. I used small chocolates and placed them in a plastic bag before putting them in the jar. Step 3: Once your lid is dry, you're ready to go. I placed a doily over my jar before securing the lid for a little extra beauty.Step 4: Go gift your Valentine! These heart jars don't have to be just for Valentine's Day. They could be used as wedding takeaways, centerpieces, party favors...the possibilities are endless!
