A Creative California Wedding

If you don't know the name Gold Teeth Brooklyn, I guarantee you've at least passed by one of their adorable screen printed greeting cards at some point. I've always been a huge fan of their designs which include calendars, cards, totes, notebooks, and more - all screen printed by hand. That said, I was thrilled when Jesse Levison - the woman behind Gold Teeth Brooklyn - asked me to help her with her wedding. With a bride as creative and talented as Jesse, I knew this was a wedding I had to be involved with. I ended up making three cakes and crafted a bunch of gold fringed piñatas and a DJ booth backdrop to help jazz up the raw venue space.I'm planning on sharing a tutorial for the piñatas later, but for now, here's a look at the cakes and the beautiful tables. Jesse had some simple requests for the cakes, but pretty much gave me creative reign when it came to the decorating. I did three different cakes - one chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream that was frosted in a rustic buttercream style, one semi-naked vanilla cake, and one of my trippy shag cakes using muted versions of the floral colors that were going to be used. I loved the look of the three very different styles together. The shag cake also had a pistachio buttercream filling, which was so very delicious!  You can find a fun video of that shag cake spinning on my Instagram HERE. The florals (including that insane palm wall installation pictured below!) were done by Miami-based florist (and childhood friend of Jesse) Julia Rhode Designs. The tables were filled with citrus, palms, and bright florals. For each wedding guest, Jesse made an adorable ceramic clementine ornament which was placed atop each setting. The tables incorporated so many handmade and thoughtful elements, which looked perfect alongside Julia's beautiful citrus, palm, and floral-filled centerpieces. I loved being apart of this wedding. Huge thanks to Jesse for inviting me to be a part of the very special day!
